A 15-minute daily mobility routine
Share
Fifteen minutes. No equipment. Just you, a bit of floor and something comfortable to move in. This is the routine we come back to before a run, after a long day at the desk, or on rest days when we want to move without really training.
It isn't about touching your toes by Friday. It's about checking in with your body, moving every joint through a comfortable range, and finishing feeling a bit looser than when you started.
Before you start
A quick safety note: move slowly, breathe, and stay within a range that feels comfortable. Mobility work should feel like a good stretch, never sharp or painful. If something hurts, ease off or skip that move. If you're recovering from an injury, pregnant, or have a medical condition, check with a qualified professional before starting a new routine.
Wear something that moves with you. Bike shorts like our Mia Organic Cotton Bike Shorts stay put through lunges and squats, and a soft, breathable top like the Merino Speed T-Shirt or our Organic Cotton T-Shirt won't get in the way.
The routine
1. Breathing and cat-cow (2 minutes)
Start on your hands and knees. Take a few slow breaths. Then, as you breathe in, let your belly drop and lift your chest (cow). As you breathe out, round your back up toward the ceiling (cat). Move slowly, one vertebra at a time.
2. Lunge with a twist (2 minutes)
Step one foot forward into a low lunge and place both hands on the floor inside your front foot. Lift the hand closest to your front leg and reach it up to the ceiling, following it with your eyes. Bring it back down and repeat 4–5 times, then switch sides.
3. 90/90 hip switches (2 minutes)
Sit on the floor with both knees bent at roughly 90 degrees, one leg in front of you and one to the side. Keeping your feet on the floor, slowly rotate both knees over to the other side. Use your hands behind you for support. Go side to side, slow and controlled.
4. Squat and hold (2 minutes)
Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and sink into a comfortable squat, as deep as feels good. Hold onto a door frame or table if you need to. Hold for a few breaths, stand up, and repeat. Gently shift your weight side to side while you're down there.
5. Open books (2 minutes)
Lie on your side with your knees bent and stacked, arms straight out in front of you. Keeping your knees together, sweep your top arm up and over to the other side, opening your chest toward the ceiling. Follow your hand with your eyes. Return slowly. Do 6–8 on each side.
6. Shoulder circles and wall slides (2 minutes)
Start with slow, big arm circles, forward then backward. Then stand with your back against a wall, elbows bent and arms up in a goalpost shape, and slowly slide your arms up and down the wall, keeping them as close to it as is comfortable.
7. Ankle circles and calf raises (2 minutes)
Stand on one leg (hold onto something if you like) and draw slow circles with the other ankle, both directions. Switch sides. Then finish with 10–15 slow calf raises, lifting up onto your toes and lowering down with control.
8. Down dog to child's pose (1 minute)
From hands and knees, lift your hips up and back into a downward dog, pedalling your heels if that feels good. Then lower your knees and sit back into child's pose, arms stretched forward. Flow between the two a few times, then rest in child's pose for a few breaths.
Make it a habit
The best routine is the one you actually do. Pair it with something you already do every day, like your morning coffee or the end of your workday, and it'll soon feel automatic. Some days you'll do all fifteen minutes; some days you'll do five. Anything counts.
